Mike MacDermott (1973-1977)

In baseball, they're called the "utility infielder", the kind of player that can play multiple positions when called upon. Such was 6-4 Mike MacDermott, a standout contributor in the mid-1970's.

MacDermott (whom Georgetown officials inexplicably listed as "McDermott" throughout his four years on the team) was a solid ball handler, shooter, and defender, and could play any one of three different positions. With a career high of 20 points versus Fairfield in 1973, MacDermott improved his shooting in each of his four seasons and in his regular season finale versus St. Francis, contributed eight points, seven assists and four steals to lead the Hoyas to the win.

Following Georgetown, MacDermott worked for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation for many years.
