Myron Gardner (2019-2020)
The Georgetown career of forward Myron Gardner was a brief one, owing to allegation and scandal.
A forward from Detroit's Loyola HS, Gardner earned a scholarship offer from Georgetown in July 2018 before he transferred to Spire Academy in Ohio, where he finished third on the team in scoring with an 18 point average and was ranked 283rd nationally by 247Sports.com. Georgetown formally announced the signing in April 2019, the same day that Grayson Carter announced his transfer.
Gardner played in eight of the first nine games of the 2019-20 season, averaging 3.1 points per game. On December 2, 2019, Gardner was accused in a civil complaint by a Georgetown student of assault and burglary from a September 15 incident that also included teammate Galen Alexander. Gardner denied the allegations and the Metropolitan Police Department closed the case without issuing charges.
Following a settlement agreement between the parties, Gardner transferred to South Plains JC in Texas and played there in 2020-21 before moving on to the University of Arkansas-Little Rock.
