Ken Brown (1946-1948)
The oldest high school honor in America is the state of Indiana's "Mr. Basketball", given to the outstanding high school player in the state. It's a list that includes the likes of Oscar Robertson, Rick Mount, Steve Alford, and Greg Oden, among others. Also on the list: Ken (Bud) Brown, who played two seasons for the Georgetown Hoyas after World War II.
Brown played two seasons at center, but chose not to return to the team as a senior.
Graduating from the School of Foreign Service in 1949 (the SFS awarded the BSBA degree prior to 1956), Brown returned to Indiana, serving as a state legislator and later as a successful local businessman.
