Jack Hekker (1950-1953)
A three sport athlete in high school, Jack Hekker was a dependable reserve forward for the Hoyas of the Class of 1953, with a career high of 16 points as a sophomore versus Fordham. While not playing basketball, Hekker also saw time on the University's first lacrosse club in 1952 and walked on to the track team as a junior, where he won the quarter mile in his only varsity race.
Following Georgetown, Hekker served two years in the Marine Corps and returned to Georgetown to earn a law degree in 1958. He practiced law in Rockland County, NY for nearly 55 years, including 24 years as a municipal judge in South Nyack, NY and two years as a judge in Orangetown, NY. In 1997, he was appointed by Gov. George Pataki to serve a term on the New York State Industrial Board of Appeals.
