A late signing in the summer of 2024, Julius Halaifonua was a 7-0, 290 pound center by way of the NBA Global Academy in Canberra, Australia. Halaifonua was ranked #33 among players for the high school class of 2025 but opted to reclassify to 2024, where is was ranked 60th in that cohort.

Halaifonua averaged 13 minutes per game over Georgetown's first six games of the season until he suffered a foot injury in practice. An announcement from the basketball office one week later confirmed Halaifonua's injury, with surgery to follow. He did not play for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.
