The first captain of the Georgetown varsity, Harold Schumm was also its first transfer.

A native of Detroit, Schumm transferred to the University of Michigan after the 1907 season, studying for three years there. The basketball team at Michigan folded after its first season in 1908-09, to which Schumm was not a member, and did not return until 1917.

Little else is known about Schumm. He died in 1936 at the age of 48.
