Dan Slattery (1959-1962)

"Presently playing the position of sixth man on the squad is 6'5" Dan Slattery," wrote the HOYA in 1961 on Georgetown's three year reserve forward from 1959 through 1962. "Coach [Tom] O'Keefe calls this strong senior the real sparker of the club...Slats' principle [sic]  assets are tremendous rebounding ability, an excellent jump shot, and a strong defensive game."

A local product of Gonzaga College HS, Slattery had some of his best scoring efforts as a sophomore, averaging just under eight points a game with a career high 23 against George Washington and 18 versus LaSalle.

Following Georgetown, Slattery served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam, earning the rank of captain, and later received a law degree at Catholic University. Listed as a "ninth generation Washingtonian" in his obituary, Slattery served as an attorney in the Washington area at the time of death in 2006.
