Drew Hall (2001-2003)

A high school and college teammate of Tony Bethel, Drew Hall's departure from Georgetown came one week after Bethel did, ending a brief and frustrating Georgetown career for the local point guard, who played at Montrose Christian.

Hall and Bethel were projected as Georgetown's backcourt of the future in 2001, and Hall opened his college career with 17 points in georgetown's walkover of Division III Marymount. It was one of only two double figure games for Hall that season backing up Kevin Braswell. As a sophomore, Hall remained a reserve behind Bethel as gerald Riley moved into the backcourt. Hall's point guard skills were in evidence, but shooting just 31 percent from the field and 26 percent from three point range was enough to keep him out of the starting lineup. In 64 games in a Georgetown uniform, he never started a game.

Hall felt there was doubt within the team as to his ability. "I accept the fact that everybody was upset that I was no Allen Iverson or Kevin Braswell," he said in a 2005 interview. "I was a different type player, and they couldn't accept that."

"I love Georgetown. It's my home school. Everybody loves Georgetown in the metropolitan area. It just wasn't me."

Hall first committed to Gonzaga, only to learn that the school, concerned about Hall's grades at Georgetown, asked him to attend junior college first. He enrolled instead at the College of Charleston, where he started 54 games and averaged 5.3 points per game from 2005-07.
