Caleb Williams (2024-)
Caleb Williams, a 6-7 forward from Washington's Sidwell Friends HS, committed to Georgetown after his junior season at Gonzaga. An honorable mention All-Met as a junior, Williams enters his senior season ranked between 92nd and 111th nationally and as the second ranked recruit in the Washington area. Choosing Georgetown over offers from Villanova, Syracuse, Michigan, Virginia and Indiana, the commitment promoted one Syracuse recruiting site to note: "Williams' decision does stand out for one big reason. It shows that Georgetown is once again a true player when it comes to DMV recruiting."
Williams was primarily a bench player as a freshman, joining the starting lineup following the injury to Thomas Sorber which moved Drew Fielder to center. A 12 point game in a win over Seton Hall was a season high until the injury-depleted lineups of the College Basketball Crown, where Williams scored 22 points over two games.
A starter in all 33 games he played as a sophomore, Williams proved to the the best outside option on a team which did not shoot well from thee point range. Despite being undersized for a power forward, averaged 30 minutes a game and held his own defensively, and scored in double figures, finishing third that season in both points and rebounds.
Williams' point performance dipped throughout the season, and visibly had trouble creating his own shot in games; however, it was only disclosed after the season that Williams had torn his labrum mid-year and would pursue shoulder surgery following the end of the season.
