Walter Morris (1928-1931)

A three year college star at shortstop who was named to the Georgetown Athletic Hall of Fame in 1953, Walter Morris started two seasons at center for the basketball team.

Morris was a lifelong resident of the Washington area. His 1991 obituary noted that he served as a ball boy for the Washington Senators in the 1924 World Series, while he was a student at St. John's College HS. On the court, he played in two games his sophomore season but was a mainstay for two more, leading the team in scoring as a senior and earning a career high 11 points in a pair of games against Duquesne and Johns Hopkins.

Following Georgetown, Morris earned a law degree at Catholic and joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation, serving as supervisor of the Special Inquiry section for 29 years from 1933 to 1962. He then joined the Central Intelligence Agency and served as a lead investigator before retiring in 1972.
