Trez Kilpatrick (1997-1999)

With the departure of Jerry Nichols in the spring of 1997, Georgetown was back in the junior college market for their fourth juco signing in the past five seasons. Added to the roster was 6-6 Trez Kilpatrick, who averaged 20.8 ppg as a senior at Neosho (KS) Junior College, and over 1000 points in two seasons after playing high school basketball in the Miami area.

The NJCAA All-American started his first 17 games in a Georgetown uniform, averaging 12.8 points in the non-conference half of the schedule. Kilpatrick's shooting touch started to wane, and in the midst of three game stretch in January 1998 where he missed 14 of 17 shots, he moved to the bench, starting only one more game for the rest of his Georgetown career. Kilpatrick ended the season averaging 10.9 points, but averaging 39 percent from the field and just 31 percent from three point range.

Similar poor shooting followed Kilpatrick into the 1998-99 season, where he shot 36 percent on the season. The low point was a combined seven minutes of action with one attempt in consecutive Big East games against Syracuse and St. John's, but he improved his results in the final stretch of his senior season. A 18 point, 10 rebound effort vs. #1 Connecticut was a season high, just one point short of his career high 19 points versus Villanova.

Trez Kilpatrick is currently an economics teacher at West Broward (FL) High School.
