Norbert Berry played two years of basketball at Wisconsin State Normal School, now the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, before arriving at Georgetown in 1926. It is unknown whether he transferred as an undergraduate or was enrolled at one of the professional schools at the time of his arrival; however, there is no record of him past 1927.

A 1942 railroad publication, archived online, references "Norbert Berry, the former Georgetown University football star," though there is no evidence he lettered in football at Georgetown during this time.
