Jamorko Pickett (2017-2021)

The career of Jamorko Pickett had always been a balance between promise and delivery. By his senior season, the two came together.

Pickett was the first Top 100 recruit of the Patrick Ewing era, choosing Georgetown after initially committing to the University of Mississippi. He was a contributor right from the beginning, starting 28 games in 2017-18 with a 9.6 points per game average and a selection to the Big East All-Freshman Team. Then, much like classmate Jahvon Blair, Pickett's development took a detour upon the arrival of a heralded freshmen class. Pickett started 23 games but reached double figures only six times as a sophomore, with an inconsistent play last seen in the days of small forward Brandon Bowman (2002-06). Pickett could shoot 7 for 11 from the field in one game and 2 for 9 ten days later. A 2 for 15 shooting stretch down the stretch of the 2018-19 season was not enough to elevate Georgetown into the NCAA's, and he had just one field goal in the Hoyas' brief stay in the 2019 NIT.

Pickett started all 32 games as a junior, averaging 10 points and six rebounds a game--good, but not overwhelming. It was not until his senior season that Pickett's confidence began to grow and he asserted himself as the main scorer for the Hoyas, scoring in double figures in 11 straight games, including an 8 for 11, 20 point, seven rebound effort in a upset of Seton Hall. A 19 point, 18 rebound game versus Coppin State earlier that season was a career best.
