Jay Heath (2022-2024)

A well traveled player by the time of his arrival to Georgetown, Jay Heath spent two seasons at Boston College, averaging 14.5 points per game and a season at Arizona State, averaging 10.6 points per game. Prior to BC, Heath was a 2018-19 all-Met selection at Woodrow Wilson HS in Washington DC, where the Tigers won three straight DCIAA titles.

NCAA clearinghouse issues over his second transfer held him back for a week from entering the Georgetown lineup in 2022-23, whereupon he started 11 consecutive games and scored in double figures in nine of them. A broken finger suffered in a game at DePaul sidelined Heath for four weeks midway in the season, and he returned to action in February, starting the final seven games of the season. He finished fourth on the team in scoring despite a poor finish, shooting a combined 3 for 20 in losses to Creighton and Villanova to end the season.

For his final season of college eligibility, Heath was a classic streak shooter: he could score 17 in one game and struggle to get a field goal in the next one. Heath's best run was a 13 point average over three games in late January, but the up and down play soon returned: 12 points against Villanova, then scoreless at Creighton; 14 points against Xavier in early March, then scoreless against Providence. A 14 point game in the regular season finale at St. John's was the prelude to one final slump: one field goal in 34 minutes in the season finale at the Big East tournament. Heath shot just 35 percent on the season, down from 41 percent the season before.

Over three different schools, Jay Heath scored 1,510 points. Unfortunately, the lowest numbers of his career were registered in two seasons on the Hilltop.
