One of the Albany area's top court performers of the 1930's, John Dieckleman saw action over two seasons as a reserve guard for the Hoyas, appearing in 19 games.

A two sport athlete in basketball and baseball, Dieckleman returned to Albany after World War II to a career in tax reporting, variously serving as a high school coach and referee for Albany-area sporting events.
