Gerry Nappy (1950-1953)

Despite his team-leading height of 6-6, Xavier HS grad Gerry Nappy saw only a backup role over three seasons with the Hoyas, mostly behind that of Hugh Beins. A nine point game his junior year against Loyola (MD) was a career high.

Despite meager statistics, Nappy was nonetheless drafted by the Syracuse Nationals (the predecessor franchise to the Philadelphia 76ers) in the 10th round of the 1953 NBA Draft, but Nappy was headed instead to the U.S. Army. After two years in military service, he joined Prudential Life insurance, serving at that company for 35 years.

Gerry Nappy died in 2017 at the age of 85.
