Fred Flanigan (1914-1915)

The manager of the college track team, Fred Flanigan was called into duty early in the 1914-15 season as a backup guard, playing in eight of 12 games that season.

Flanigan returned to track his senior season, where the Ye Domesday Booke yearbook was complimentary of Flanigan's contributions. "He shown brilliantly on the basketball team for a season," it wrote. "He managed in his senior year once of the most successful track meets ever staged in the history of the University. The magnetism of his personality and the equanimity of his temper endeared him to all, and to know him was to call him friend.

"A gentleman in every sense of the word, Georgetown was bettered by his very presence."
