David Allen (2012-2015)

Expectations for walk-ons are generally low, but the case of David Allen should have brought more during his time at Georgetown.

Allen averaged 23 points a game as a quick-moving guard at Highland Park HS, one of Texas' top high schools that season. Whatever Division I doors for Allen that should have opened were abruptly closed when Allen was cited with a DWI at the onset of the state playoffs. He was recruited as a walk-on and joined the Hoyas that fall.

In three seasons, Allen's quickness was nowhere to be seen, as he was often placed into games in the final minute, ostensibly to stand near mid-court and run out the clock. His four points versus Seton Hall in 2013 was a career high.

Allen's summer prior to his senior year was spent on a real estate internship in New York in lieu of the Kenner League, and without comment he was not included on the team roster the following season. Despite not playing as a senior, Allen was a sixth round NBA G-League selection as a development player. He is now a business development manager for Providence Energy, a Dallas-based firm.
