Chudier Bile (2020-2021)

One of three grad transfers that arrived in the 2020-21 season, a move to the starting lineup made Chudier Bile a valuable member of that team's late season development.

A native of the Sudan by way of Denver, CO, Bile was already a well-traveled college player when Georgetown recruited him remotely in the spring of 2020, having never seen him play in person. Bile did not secure a Division I offer out of high school, playing two years in-state at Otero Junior College from 2016-18 before signing with Bradley University in 2018. He left Bradley just one month into its summer session and transferred to Northwestern State (LA), averaging 14.3 points and 7.6 rebounds in 2019-20 and earning a second team all-Southland Conference selection. Ten days after announcing he would pursue a grad transfer, Bile signed with Georgetown.

Bile's early play for the Hoyas was underwhelming--he was prone to fouls, shot poorly, and was frequently out of position as a reserve forward coming off the bench. Through his first six games, Bile shot just 35 percent from the field and averaged 6.6 points a game. Following a 19 point, nine rebound effort against Providence on Jan. 30, Bile was moved into the starting lineup and provided an immediate boost to the Hoyas on both ends of the court.

Bile averaged 10.2 points per game for the season, shooting 40 percent from the floor, 39 percent from three, and 68 percent from the line. Three games of 19 points, the latter at the 2021 Big East final versus Creighton, matched his season high.

Chudier Bile did not complete his studies at Georgetown, opting for the NBA G-League where he averaged 5.6 points a game for the Charlotte Hornets' team in Greensboro, NC.
