Anthony Tucker (1987-1988)

A high school All-American his senior year, Anthony Tucker figured to be the replacement of Reggie Williams in the 1987-88 lineup but struggled on the court and in the classroom during his only season at Georgetown.

"Being at home was hard for me," Tucker told the Baltimore Sun. "I had so many friends coming up to school that I couldn't get my work done. I liked Georgetown, I liked Coach Thompson. We had good players and we were going to be highly ranked. I wanted to be a part of that."

A 15 point, seven rebound effort versus Rice was an early season high but Tucker soon drifted down the lineup as Big East play began. He started just four conference games in and averaged just 3.1 points per game despite a healthy 44 percent from the field. In his final five games, he scored just seven points.

Tucker transferred to Wake Forest in 1988, playing three seasons alongside all-ACC forward All-American Rodney Rogers. Tucker scored 1,043 points in three seasons for a 12.2 average. Undrafted by the NBA, he was signed as a free agent by the Washington Bullets in 1994 and played 62 games that season, with a 3.9 points per game average.
