Akok Akok (2022-2023)

Ranked as high as 92nd nationally in a prep program at Putnam Science Academy, Akok Akok averaged 4.2 points 3.9 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in three seasons at UConn before transferring to Georgetown in the spring of 2022. Akok lost much of his sophomore season to a torn Achilles muscle and did not play in ten games as a sophomore because of a recurring foot injury.

Akok started all 31 games as a junior at Georgetown, leading the Big East in blocks at 2.0 per game and finishing second on the team in rebounds. A 14 point, 10 rebound effort at Xavier was a season high in conference.

Listed as a senior in the 2022-23 media communications, Akok did not appear as a graduate at Commencement and was not pictured during a summer photo of players, leading to speculation about his future plans. Following reports of ties to a recent transfer at West Virginia, his name was added to the transfer portal in August 2023, becoming the 25th (and presumably final) transfer of the Patrick Ewing era.
